PET OF THE WEEK JULY 14, 2008
|
My name is Lucky, but I think I may have been named wrong because I’m sure not having much luck. The first time I came into the shelter was two years ago, my young body battered and bruised. I spent several days held up in my dog house, trying not to move, quietly waiting for my wounds to heal and all the pain to go away. I was cared for by gentle hands and after many, many days finally got well enough to get neutered and get all my vaccinations; then got well enough to be put up for adoption to a new wonderful home. They said I was Lucky to be alive and that is how I got my name. It wasn’t long before I was adopted, went to my new home and everyone thought I was another happy tale but as you can see I’m now back at the kennel, two years older but at least this time I’m not battered and bruised. I was found running around with my friend Goldie; we lived together - guess at the moment we still do, just this time it’s at the Sheriff’s department. It’s time for me and Goldie to be looking for a new home, no one has come for us and we sure don’t want to stay here much longer; I’m glad it’s a place to be safe but it sure isn’t a “home”. If you would like to come meet me you know where to find me or you can just call Pauline at 989-785-3463 for more information. I just got to thinking about being Lucky, maybe I am lucky after all, I’m alive, well fed, safe and have a second chance to get a real forever home, this time a real happy tail!
