|My name is Dixie and Im a Walker Hound. Im just under two years old
and have had everything that I need; spayed shots and even a micro chip, except for one thing A HOME!
I have to admit that I have never hunted a day in my life; Im really a house dog and like that life the most.
I did have a home for awhile but they didnt keep me home and I went to the neighbors and got a bit too rough with their chickens
(that is the closest I ever came to hunting) so they brought me to the shelter to live.
They say Im the most beautiful Walker Hound EVER! Im pretty active I love to go for long walks, runs or lots of play
but I also love to be loved on and watch TV in the evening (I miss both of those a lot).
Im crate trained, housebroken, know some commands and I think Im pretty darn smart so Im sure I can learn most anything
anyone wanted to teach me, within reason of course (I dont think I can be taught to knit as I dont have the right fingers
for that). I really would like a real home, one that will keep me safe at home and love me LOTS!
Come meet me soon
PET ANGEL PROGRAM
Is your house already full of pets, or maybe you aren't home enough to care for a pet? We have a way for you to help a shelter dog or cat find that forever home.
Elk Country Animal Shelter offers the "Pet Angel Program." It allows one person, a group of friends, or a service club, to sponsor a shelter dog or cat.
For $200 you can sponsor a dog or $150 sponsors a cat. This covers the adoption fee and provides toys, beds, a nice size bag of food, treats and a new collar and leash. And as always, the pet will be spayed or neutered, have all vaccinations and a microchip. There is a nice placard that has your name on it, that will be placed over the kennel or cat cage. You will receive a thank you, but most of all you will have helped a dog or cat who really needed a helping hand.
Think about it, won't you?
