HELPING HANDS

Shelter operating costs have risen in the same manner as the cost of living for each of us, and while our shelter operations, fundraising events, contributions, and generous local support cover the bulk of our normal operating expenses, we need additional funding to provide enhanced services such as the Community Spay/Neuter Program, to improve or add kennels and fencing, and to purchase equipment and materials vital to maintaining an up-do-date, efficient shelter. To aid in financing these things, wealso depend on local, state, and national charitable organizations.

Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the organizations listed below in recognition of their support for our efforts to provide the best possible care and services to the animals and pet owners in our area:

ASPCA
New York, New York
For a grant making possible the expansion of our Community Spay/Neuter Program services for cats and dogs in 2011 and 2012.

Presque Isle Gas & Electric Communities First Fund
Onaway, Michigan
For a grant helping us purchase equipment and materials needed for Community Spay/Neuter Program services.

The Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, a KeyBank Trust
Cleveland, Ohio
For a grant to aid in meeting the 2011/2012 goals of our Community Spay/Neuter Program services for cats and dogs.
