Pet of the Week--OCTOBER 8, 2007 TISHA
Hi Everyone! My name is Tisha, and temporarily, I am staying at the Sheriff’s Department, just until I find a new home. I’m a girl dog but not too sure what kind of dog I am,. I have been mixed up since I was born; I think my parents thought I was some sort of hunting type dog, like maybe a German Shorthair Pointer, and my tail promptly got docked. Well it sure turns out I don’t have the color of any German Shorthair I have ever seen; I am a Brindle color, so maybe I have some Plott hound in my family tree. Sure is hard to guess, but it’s not hard to figure out how nice of a dog I am once you meet me. I love people, and I don’t want to live outside. I want to live inside the house with you!I can be patient and wait for that very special home.
Enough about me for the moment, I want to tell you about the new dog that came in last night that makes us all feel very sad; they named her Lady. She is a very senior Springer Spaniel with a long tail, (kinda opposite of me); she is confused about being at the kennel. We think she may have just wandered from her home like seniors sometimes do. She didn’t even have a collar or tag to help get her back home; a very nice young couple had the kind hearts to pick her up off the road in Lewiston and bring her to safety. We younger dogs can be patient, we really don’t mind being here for a little while longer, we get fed well and played with, but the seniors are very sad here, and they just won’t listen to us younger dogs. She hasn’t said a word since she got here, but maybe that’s because she can’t hear or see very well anymore. My home can wait. I want to see Lady go back home. Call Pauline at 989-785-3463 if you want more information on me or Lady.
Pauline wanted me to remind everyone that there is a shelter meeting this Thursday 7 P.M. at the Atlanta Library, and everyone is welcome to attend.
