Hello! My name is Smokey and I’m a Chocolate Lab and I need a new home. I want to tell you about my adventure yesterday. They got me up bright and early “wanna go for a ride?” they said. You bet I did - rides? I love rides! So they loaded me and DJ up in the truck and off we went. Little did I know we would end up at the veterinarian office, I knew that smell and you can’t fool an experienced lab, although I think DJ was fooled! So, today I’m a bit sore since I was neutered and poked with needles but now I can proudly say I’m neutered, I have all my shots and was even heartworm tested which I’m thankful I don’t have any of those. I’m sorta on the chubby side, well maybe it’s not “sorta”, I am on the chubby side and need to lose a few pounds. Nothing some exercise and the right amount of food won’t fix. I’m about 8 years old, I have some lumps and bumps that older dogs sometimes get, the vet said I had one about the size of a large grape that looked suspicious, they said if we leave it alone and it might shrink, stay the same or get bigger, only time will tell. It could be removed but most likely it will come back and the outcome would be the same. I’m a good dog and I feel good so don’t let my lump bother you because it doesn’t seem to bother me, the only thing that bothers me is being here, I want to be with people! I hope someone out there has room in their home and heart for a chubby, happy go lucky older Chocolate Lab like me. Sincerely, Smokey
