My name is Rusty and I’m a Labrador Retriever. My coat is such a deep reddish color some people may think I’m something else, but I’m a Labrador through and through. I love to play, I love people, I love toys and I love other dogs - sure sounds like I’m a Labrador don’t it! I’m housebroken and know some manners but I’m still pretty young and you can’t expect me to know everything when I’m not even a year old yet. I’m a pretty big boy and lots of fun, anyone adopting me would be proud to have me by their side.
They said I had to be neutered before I could find my new forever home, with that done and recovering I’m ready to move out of here. It’s alright being here, good food, good friends and warmth but it’s not a home and that’s what I really want; maybe, just maybe I could have a new home before Christmas.
I have met lots of new friends here, it’s been fun most days (not the day I was neutered though), I wasn’t afraid when I came here because I’m the kind of dog that just rolls with the program, I can adjust to a new home in no time. Especially if you have kids….I like kids a lot. I will play fetch and chase all day long – even in the snow. Oh, and I’m not a barker, sure I will bark when a stranger comes along – every dog is supposed to do that – but I don’t do a lot of nonsense barking; so I guess you can call me a quiet dog.
If you are looking for a handsome dog you looked in the right place, you can find me at the shelter or call 989-785-3738 if you have questions about me.
