Hello. My name is Norma and I’m a German Shorthair Pointer. I was found running right down the middle of the road with my puppy; yes, my puppy even though I am very young myself, just barely out of puppyhood. Some people saw us and tried to get me to come to them, I was so confused, at first I was going to go to them but then changed my mind, I kept thinking what if these people aren’t friendly, what if they want to hurt us. I just couldn’t take the chance with my puppy so I ran away from them. My pup followed for awhile but that crazy pup thought we were all playing and ran back to the people and got caught. I sure didn’t know what to do then, I couldn’t leave my baby but I still didn’t know if these people were nice or not - they sounded nice but I just couldn’t be sure so I slipped off into the woods, hoping they would just put my baby down and go away. Well, they were a determined bunch, they didn’t put my baby down and they didn’t go away, instead they circled around me in the woods; I let out a feeble attempt of a growl trying to outwit them but they just wouldn’t give up on me, finally one of them got close enough for me to smell her hand and I knew in that instant that I wasn’t going to be harmed. What a relief that was, I gave them all kisses and showed them my long wagging tail. They loaded us both in the back seat where we stretched out exhausted; man it’s been a rough day! We got to a new house where we were bedded down, lots of clean fresh water and a great meal; we were so hungry we ate the whole bowl full and asked for more. Yep, I have a long tail and so does my pup, we don’t care; we are still great dogs, very friendly good natured - long or short tails. My puppy’s name is Carley, she is about 3 months old and still has those very sharp baby teeth she likes to chew on me with, but all in all she is a very nice girl and I think she will quit chewing on me soon, I am a very patient Mom. They say we can’t stay here for very long so I need to find a new home for me and Carley.
