marvinMARVIN, APRIL 9, 2007

Hi Everyone! My name is Marvin, and if you are thinking, “Hey, I think I have seen this dog before,” you probably have as this is the second time I have been in the paper. I am still here at the kennel, still looking for that forever home made just for me. I haven’t changed much while being here, still a very nice dog that knows some commands and manners. Sometimes I get real excited and forget my manners, but that’s only for a very short time, and it’s only because we are locked up in our kennels. They keep telling us once Spring break is over us dogs will start to get adopted; I feel very lucky to be the first Pet of the Week after Spring break, my first real chance to find a new home.

It is obvious that I am part Rottweiler, I have that sleek black coat that’s very easy to care for, I am smart, I have the confidence to protect my family and let them know when someone comes around, but most of all, I am a big lover, I love everyone, and I get along with other dogs. I dream at night that I have a family of my own: they take me for walks and throw sticks for me; in the evening, I get to lie on a soft bed and watch TV with my family; they stroke my head till my eyes won’t stay open anymore; and I sleep all night long with the comfort and safety of my family. Oh, how I wish it wasn’t a dream. If you want to make my dream come true, please call Pauline at 989-785-3463 or visit me at the Montmorency County Sheriff's Dept. There are many dogs to choose from if I’m not the kind of dog you are looking for; come see!

We sure could use a few bags of Pedigree dog food, many big dogs to feed, if you can drop off a bag, we would appreciate that very much.
Don’t forget to spay and neuter your pets! The Elk Country Animal Shelter can help; if you have dogs, call Pauline at 989-785-3463, or if you have cats call Maggie at 989-786-5139.
BOARD Meeting for ECAS has been changed. We will meet Wednesday, April 11th 7 P.M.at the Hillman Library. Anyone is welcome to attend.
