LUCY

Happy New Year Everyone!

ADOPTED!I am so glad I have been picked for this week’s Pet of the Week; I have been waiting for my turn for quite awhile. My name is Lucy, and I am a Walker Hound. You might remember the story of me and my pups found by the roadside starving and lonely. My pups have found new homes, and now it’s my turn. I was very scared when I first came in-- so afraid of what was going to happen to me and my pups, but as time went on, I found out no one here was going to hurt me and they took very good care of my pups. It sure didn’t take long for me to start trusting people again. Now I come right out to greet people, especially since I have figured out most have little tidbits of yummy treats for me and gentle strokes on my head. I am a very gentle dog with a very laid back personality and would make someone a loyal lifelong companion. You see, I haven’t had a very good life. I haven’t told anyone of my past, but they are starting to figure it out on their own. They know I haven’t been cared for proper, and they know by the way I act that I didn’t get many pats on the head, but us dogs don’t dwell on the past. We just move on to another wonderful day, and this new wonderful day just might bring me a truly great home. What a way to start the New Year! If you would like to visit me, I am staying at the Montmorency County Sheriff's Dept.. If you need more information, call Pauline at 989-785-3463, and don’t forget it’s time to getyour dog his or her new 2007 dog license. Happy New Year!
