PET OFTHE WEEK--August 28, 2006

LUCKYMy name is Lucky, and I have a whopper of a story. I had been living out in the woods alone hungry and scared. For several weeks, some people tried to catch me, but I was very afraid to go to them and managed to stay out of their reach until one day when I met up with a car that hit me. I was hurting pretty bad but managed to drag my body to a safe place where no one could find me not even the deputy that was called to come pick me up. After a few days, still very sore but able to walk very stiffly, I was spotted again,  but this time when the deputy came, I couldn’t run from him. and he picked me up and brought me to the kennel at the Sheriff's Dept. I was still very scared but quickly learned that all these people were only trying to help me, but I just didn’t know it at the time. The good news was that I had no broken bones, and other than being skinny and still very sore, I was going to be just fine. That is when I got the name “Lucky." I was cared for and nursed back to health good enough to get a bath (oh, think I failed to mention I was pretty smelly too), neutered and get my shots.

Now that I have recovered from my ordeal, I am looking for a new home, one that will keep me home where I will be safe. I am a little shy with strangers, but after I get to know you are someone that won’t hurt me, I warm right up, love to play, get petted, scratched behind the ears, and most of all love to be loved.

Please don’t come to adopt me because you feel sorry for me; adopt me because you need someone like me in your life.  Please call Pauline at 989-785-3463 if you want more information on me. She also asked me to tell you about the upcoming events, micro-chipping in Atlanta on Sept. 16th, cat spay and neuter clinic along with vaccinations for dogs and cats Sept. 30th in Lewiston and October 14th in Hillman. You can get all the information needed on this website.
