PET OF THE WEEK--DECEMBER 11, 2006

Hi everyone! My name is Lacy; I am the most beautiful dog in the kennel. I am mostly Black Lab with a little bit of Boxer or Pit bull, butI don’t know which because when I was little all my Mom ever told me was “Dear little pup, you have the heart of a Labrador; follow your heart through life and nothing else will matter."

I have been trying to do that ever since. I am only around two years old. I have the most beautiful sleek, soft coat you would ever see or feel on a dog, but I can tell you it sure doesn’t do much for keeping me warm. I am a short-haired dog, and my hairs are as short as they come. I have lots of straw in my dog house to help keep me warm, but it in no way compares to the warm comfort of a “home."

I am housebroken, and I love kids. I used to live in a home with two “little people,” and they were the best and my most favorite of all to be with. I know some commands and will do them for you no matter how big or little you are. You see I am very smart in that department, but I’m not very smart in the “staying at home on my own” department. I ran out the door when the opportunity presented itself, and off I went running around town having a grand old time until I was picked up by a deputy. He told me I shouldn’t be running around town, and I didn’t have a license either. Those things are against the law! Heck what did I know about laws? I’m a dog. Anyway I was brought to the kennel at the Sheriff's Dept., and here I will stay until I find a new home.
