PET OF THE WEEK MAY 25, 2009
LACIE

Hello! I know Pet of the Week was missed last week but that makes this week double special. My name is Lacie and I’m a female German Shepherd with maybe a tiny little bit of something else. They tell me I’m a very special girl and certainly worthy of being the double special pet of the week. I know many commands and know them well – I know sit, shake, speak, down and I even know how to gently put my paw on your leg just to let you know just how special you are to me. I have manners too, I don’t jump on people and I walk very nicely on a leash. My favorite thing in life is people, I love being with people and am loyal as the day is long. I was a stray and was brought to the shelter so I would be safe from harm and have quickly grown very fond of everyone that I have met here, but I keep hearing the same words when I gently place my paw on their knee “Lacie I love you but I can’t take you home with me” but they also tell me that someone will come along that will be able to take me home with them. The very best time I have here is when I get to spend time in the lobby of the shelter, I love it there because I’m around what I love most – people, I’m very content to just lay on the nice thick blanket they place on the floor for me or maybe chase a tennis ball or two when someone has a moment to play with me. Eventually I have to go back to my kennel and that makes me very sad, maybe someone will see my picture and come meet me, you can see for yourself just how special I am. I’m about 4 or 5 years old; I have just gotten spayed and have all my shots and a microchip so I am ready to go to that special home that is just as special as I am. Hope to see you soon, Love Lacie |
