PET OF THE WEEK MAY 4, 2009

Hello out there! My name is Jackson and I’m a very handsome Australian Shepherd. I came into the shelter as a stray along with my girlfriend Jane; she is also an Australian Shepherd and a real beauty; they call us Aussies for short. Aussies are known for their smarts and Jane and I are no different, we are both very smart and learn quickly. I’m a young dog of maybe 1 ½ years old with plenty to learn but have some good stable building blocks. They think I am housebroken as I don’t potty in my kennel, I love to play, I’m happy and love life, I don’t jump on people and want to please everyone. I seem to get along with most everyone here, there are a select few that just don’t seem to like any of us other boys but that’s their problem not mine. I have a very cute bob tail and shake it all day long; you can see happiness in motion. My breed is a working breed so that means I will lead an active lifestyle and love to have jobs to do; I’m not going to be the kind of dog that’s content to lay at someone’s feet all day, at least not for many years to come. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a crazy dog, I pay attention and I’m more than willing to learn but will need exercise to be a well balanced companion. Right now I’m staying safe at the Elk Country Animal Shelter, this is where I will be if you want to come meet me, or you can call Pauline at the shelter 989-785-3738. |
