May 21, 2007--Henry
Hello everyone, my name is Henry, and I would like to tell you my story. I had an owner at one time, but he
couldn’t keep me any longer because he was moving into an apartment. I was so sad and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t live in the apartment or why he would move into a place that wouldn’t let his best friend come with him; he gave me to another guy, and I really don’t think that guy liked me very much, so I left to go find my old friend, and that’s when I was picked up by a Sheriff’s Deputy. Man, I thought I was in BIG trouble, but I got treated very kindly, and he told me it wasn’t my fault and he would take me where I would be safe. So here I am at the Sheriff's Dept. kennel, and yes, I’m safe and well fed. I get some attention but certainly not enough. I have to share our caretaker with all the other dogs, and to be truthfu,l this isn’t a place I want to live for very long; I want a guardian to call my own, one that says to me, “Henry, you are my very best friend." I am part Black Labrador Retriever and part something smaller; I know this because I haven’t grown as big as a Lab, but I am still loyal, friendly, athletic and intelligent; most of the wonderful qualities of the Labrador. I am very proud to say I have been fixed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. If you would like to meet me, I will be waiting at the Sheriff's Dept., or you can call Pauline at 989-785-3463 for more information. The Elk Country Animal Shelter paid for all my shots and for getting me fixed, so if you adopt me, please give a donation to ECAS so more shelter dogs can get off to a new start in life on the right paw. Pauline wanted me to tell you not to forget ECAS has their Annual Garage Sale coming up this Saturday and Sunda; don’t miss it! Also, they are still collecting items for their sale; you can drop off your items at the fairgrounds on Friday or call Pauline for a pick-up. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my story, love, Henry.
