GERTY--Pet of the Week

June 26, 2006

My name is Gerty. I think I am part Shepherd, Beagle and Tank; I know you must be thinking “what a funny combination." Well funny as it may seem, that’s what they have me pegged at. I have the coloring of a Beagle, the height and hair of a small Shepherd and the body of a Tank! They have me on a special diet to lose weight, and I have been doing well but still am a bit “tanky”.

I just love people, everyone, and I mean everyone. I like dogs too. Not much in life that I don’t like.

I was picked up by the Sheriff’s Dept. and brought here. They thought for sure my family would be looking for me since I had a shaved foreleg that a veterinarian usually does, but here it is weeks later, and my family still hasn’t come looking for me, so I am very ready to make a new life with another family. I would love to travel with you, play in the yard with the kids, go for long walks and sleep by your bed at night to protect you from the noises of the night. I am a good girl and would like to get out of doggy lock up! Come visit me or call Pauline for more information 989-785-3463.
Please do your part in reducing the number of homeless dogs in our community. Get your dog spayed or neutered, and we can help if he/she weighs 45 lbs. or over. Call Linda at 989-785-3325.
