Hi, my name is Gretchen, and I’m proud to say I’m a German Shepherd dog and a very nice looking one at that (so they tell me). Like many of the others here, I was running around without my owner, so I was picked up and brought to the Sheriff’s department, and here I am for you to see; maybe you will come adopt me! I really like people and am very friendly. German Shepherds are loyal to their family and very intelligent, and I will try my best to live up to my breed. If I’m not the dog for you, maybe with a visit you would find the right dog for you. There are many here to choose from. We would all like to have a real home for Christmas, but if you can’t make it for a few days, don’t worry; we will wait. We have lots of food, treats and toys to help us through the holidays. Our little friend Gordon the terrier went to the Hillman Elementary School and gathered up all the gifts the school kids collected just for us dogs. They told Gordie we needed some help since we are homeless; so we would like to thank Mrs. Selesky and Mrs. Trelfa’s 2nd grade classes and Mr. Selesky’s 6th grade class, and to all the people who dropped off gifts for us at the courthouse, we are all very thankful as we know these are gifts from your heart. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and if you already have a dog or cat, keep them warm and safe as they will always be your most loyal friends.
