Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Even though we are in the kennel, we still had a very nice Christmas. Thanks to all the thoughtful people that brought us food, toys, treats, collars, leashes and other goodies; we have all been eating good and having fun. I bet you kind of guessed I would be in the paper this week; yep, Cashew is my name, and my brother is Peanut.
I am glad I got the chance to be Pet of the Week so you can clearly see that I am the best looking brother. Peanut sure was spinning a tall tail last week! This week I have MY chance at getting a home for the holidays. I am pretty much all black except for 4 white socks on my feet and a white chest; my white feet will come in real handy because you will know right away if my feet are muddy and can quickly wipe them off before I jump into your bed for the night, but if you don’t want me sleeping with you, I will gladly sleep anywhere you want me to.
I’m not quite a year old yet, very smart and very eager to learn new things. I’m not too small and not too big. I think I am just the right size for a dog. Not real sure what we are made of but think it’s something like Lab and Beagle. Isn’t that a nice mix? Two very nice breeds combine smarts, beauty and fun, so why don’t you come and visit me at the kennel and take me home? I sure would like to get out here and have a home of my own. I promise I will be a good boy and pay you lots of attention! If you have more questions, you can call Pauline at 989-785-3463. For our out of town readers that would have liked to give to the dogs, you can mail a donation to Elk Country Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 434, Atlanta, MI 49709. Happy New Year to all!
