PET OF THE WEEK JANUARY 4, 2009

Happy New Year Everyone! I am so excited to be the very first dog for 2009 - that makes me feel very special. I know my picture looks a bit outdated because there isn’t any snow but this is the only one they could find, that’s ok, I haven’t changed much since the picture except for a bit heavier coat to keep me warm. I am only around a year or two old, black as the ace of spades, neutered, and like most Labradors I love, love, love people. I think that’s what makes it so hard on us being here, not being able to be around people all day. Sure, our buddy that takes care of us tries to spend as much time as he can with us but with so many of us and only one of him and not many daylight hours it makes for a very lonely life for us shelter dogs. No wonder when anyone comes to visit we all act like goof balls, all of us wanting attention and to be the one that gets picked, it’s just real hard to sit and be patient when the excitement is just busting to get out. I hope someday soon someone will take a liking to me and say “Buster you are going home with me”, oh, I just can’t wait for that day to come. Maybe, just maybe that day will be real soon. I am so tired of being here, day in and day out, without much to do when I could be doing some very important duties - like getting your slippers for you, or taking you for a walk (after all you do need to get out more), letting you know when someone is at the door, chasing the squirrels out of our yard, making sure the floor is free of crumbs after meals, and most importantly keeping you from getting lonely. Some of these things will come naturally and some you will have to teach me but I’m smart and up to the task. Pick me, yep; I’m the one for you! If you need more information please call Pauline at 989-785-3463 she will be glad to tell you all about me. |
